Born in Xilian, he joined the Communist Youth League of China in 1925 and the Communist Party of China in 1926, the first CPC member in Huilai.
In 1924, he founded the Huilai Youth Society to carry out the revolutionary enlightenment education movement to “take on the task to reform Huilai and promote the development of Huilai”. In 1925, he was a part of an action team under the eastern political department led by Zhou Enlai and served as the commissioner of Guangdong federation of trade unions. In 1926, he was in charge of organizing local CYLC and CPC branches. In 1928, he participated in the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army led by Peng Pai and Xu Xiangqian and the local revolutionary armed forces to besiege the Huilai County. In April 1929, he was assigned special deputy secretary of Dongjiang. In the same year, when he was on his way to report to the provincial party committee, he was captured and killed by the Kuomintang force at the age of 30.
Born in Huilai, Wu Dehao is a sculpture artist who graduated with postgraduate degrees from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Sculpture Department. In 2017, he visited the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, France. He currently lectures in the Sculpture Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of China Sculpture Association and Guangdong Artist Association, deputy general secretary of CNACA Special Committee of Glass Arts and director of Guangzhou Municipal Association of Sculpture.
